The Linean Toad is a very rare toad, only appearing in a single forest. This is not because they are a strange being which requires a rare magic or a rare food to survive, no, the truth is far stranger. The Linean Toads are all descended from a single group of toads. The Tower of Lineus has all but crumbled to dust over a century ago, although you can still find the overgrown foundation, and it was from this tower that all the Linean Toads proceeded.
Lineus was a powerful mage whose signature spell was one to turn his enemies into toads. Many of his enemies, mortal, elven, or even daemonic all met their end turned to toads by the proud mage. Kept in cages, these toads were left as a display of his power. Like all mages, Lineus' undoing was his hubris. He was eventually slain by an orcish Servant of the Dark Blood when he got too slow to keep up his powers, and his toads released to overtake his tower. It was then that the strangest aspect of his toads was revealed.
The toads' minds were overwhelmed by Lineus' spell, but the minds of their children were not. This meant that the second generation of toads had the bodies of toads, but sapient minds. It took many years before these toads managed to build themselves permanent homes. The current Linean Toads have managed to even create rudimentary weapons, tools, and homes. They live along the edge of lakes or rivers, and dig small homes underneath trees. They can't properly speak the language of the larger folks, and so require some amount of magical intervention, or a very patient listener, to try to understand them. This means they are often just considered to be regular toads, despite their remarkable intelligence.
The final, strangest, and most overwhelming part of the Linean Toad is that the majority of them are Gifted. Due to the fact that most of the original generation of toads were daemons or sorcerers, the majority of these toads are also sorcerers. This strange quirk means that their society is often protected by incredibly powerful magicians, spells, wards, and hexes. They do not have that many spells since Lineus' Tower was mostly destroyed when they learned of this quirk and were organized enough to take advantage of it - but these spells and their casters mean that the toad society is surprisingly comfortable despite their wild homes.
The rarest of the Linean Toads have stranger powers than that. Most of the toads have the change of being corrupted due to their daemonic blood and magical power, but some are born aberrant with certain traits, such as Second Sight, Witch Flesh, Dissident Parasite, Faith in Dead Gods, Repulsive Blood, or Horrific Aura. These Linean Toads often have Lawbreaker to go with their daemonic blood. These toads are often outcast due to their demonic history - but they live within the rest of toad society before they are detected. When outcast these toads will make deals with orcs or hags to try to make it on their own. The daemonic Linean Toads are never spoken of with outsiders, since the Linean Toads are wise enough to know that if humans or elves ever found them to be a threat, their community is small enough that it might be wiped out entirely.
Miniscule Statue: These toads are largish for toads, but they are very small. Hitting them with a weapon is at +2Ob, since they are incredibly small.
Giant Leap: Linean Toads can jump over twice the length of their body, without any warning. They can choose to change their Positioning advantage to Missile as a single action in Fight.

The caster must spend the entire duration of the spell able to see their target, speaking this loud and horrific spell, fundamentally changing the nature of reality. The caster's entire energies put toward bending a being into a new form. Once complete, the target the spell (typically previously bound or unconscious) is turned into a common toad. The toad's mind has been overridden by that of a toad, as is their form. This new body has the following stats: Will B2, Per: B3, Speed: B6, Agility: B4, Power: B1, Forte: B1.
This spell can only be undone by some equally powerful feat of magic, such as a minor miracle.
